Requirements

  • Have resided in the Portland, OR area for at least one year
  • Be willing to travel a 75-120-mile distance from Portland, OR every day to visit customers
  • Possibility of travel overnight two nights per month
  • Have a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
  • Have at least six months of experience in outside sales

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Professional Sports Teams, College & High School Athletic Departments as a member of the #1 Resource for Professionals in the Sports Turf and Athletic Field Maintenance Industry.
  • Work with Athletic Directors, Coaches, Trainers, Sports Stadium Managers, Groundskeepers & Sports Turf Managers, Parks & Recreation Directors, and Building & Grounds Maintenance Supervisors as they make important decisions regarding their Athletic Fields and Athletic Facilities.
  • Work closely with our Sales Management Team in a professional, structured, and disciplined consultative sales training & product training program.
  • Work closely with a mentor and a Professional Sales & Product Training Staff in a Stable, Personalized, and Structured Environment.

Equipment Product Line Manager

Location: Cleveland OH

Description: Pioneer Athletics seeks a full-time Equipment Product Line Manager.

The Equipment Product Line Manager will act as liaison between the company management, sales team, and customers; assist with the design of new products, improve existing products, and build prototypes; oversee the strategic planning, development, and execution of the company’s product development. Also, this person will help build strategic relationships with equipment manufacturers to grow sales and profitability.

Requirements

  • Engineering or Agronomy related degree preferred
  • Prior experience in related field highly preferred
  • Experience with maintaining, operating, and repairing equipment including, but not limited to P-Rex (Pioneer Remover and Extractor), synthetic turf grooming equipment, athletic field stripers, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of equipment, product, industry, and/or services provided to clients
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to prepare reports and logs
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Self-starting

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong background in sports turf management
  • Experience using equipment on both natural grass and synthetic turf sports fields
  • Experience of athletic field maintenance and a good understanding of field conversion requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees manufacturing and improvement of existing equipment lines
  • Reviews and stays abreast of industry trends and new technologies
  • Identifies equipment opportunities within the marketplace
  • Acts as liaison to coordinate information and technical knowledge between the end user of a product and the sales representatives in the selling organization
  • Communicates with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders to identify and assess product requirements; applies this knowledge to support product development strategy
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects
  • Oversees the drafting of product designs according to customer, client, or company specifications
  • Adapts existing product designs to meet new specifications and applications
  • Assists with construction of prototypes
  • Tests prototypes to verify product reliability; makes adjustments as required
  • Assists the engineer with resolving product issues or production difficulties
  • Oversees the product process from development through production; proactively addresses and solves any issues and risks that arise
  • Tracks and analyzes product, program, and process costs
  • Maintains knowledge of developing trends and technologies in the industry
  • Performs other duties as required

Field Sales Department


Field Sales Representatives are responsible for the sales activity between the customer, possible prospects and existing customers in their assigned territories. The Field Representative is responsible for carrying out the policies and objectives of Pioneer, as well as, the specific profit objectives assigned by management. EOE

 

Inside Sales Department


This highly visible position responds to our customers' needs over the telephone. Acceptable telephone performance is required for success in this position. Order Processing/Administrative Support

Customer Service


This position requires telephone interaction with existing and potential customers providing responses to inquires about our products and services. Duties also include generating new product interest and cross-selling with current and potential customers. Mostly inbound calls from our customers who are NFL team personnel, athletic field personnel and school coaches to name a few. The right candidate must possess a high level of phone skills, enjoy talking on the phone to the public and possess an interest in the world of sports. This position offers a base wage plus earned commissions and incentives. Purchasing Agent/Buyer


This position sources athletic goods, services and equipment for Pioneer. Expediting, reviewing vendor and inventory reports, working with vendors on pricing, lead times, freight terms and maintaining standardized business inventory levels are some of the main duties.
